Castle View’s Summer BBQ Raises Funds for Windsor Mencap

Castle View homeowners and friends came together in July for a lively Summer BBQ – and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve been able to present £700 to our neighbours at Windsor Mencap.

The cheque handover took place recently in the beautiful garden of the Windsor Mencap Hub, presented by Melanie Pyne, Event Coordinator, with Castle View proudly in view behind. Representing Windsor Mencap were Peter, Chair, and Stephanie, Vice Chair & Club Leader, along with several of the charity’s members who had joined us for the BBQ.

Windsor Mencap is a local charity doing incredible work to support adults with learning disabilities. From providing advocacy and advice, to running clubs, day activities, and social opportunities, they play a vital role in helping their members live life to the full, build friendships, and feel truly part of the community. Many of their members joined us at the BBQ, which made the evening feel even more special.

“It was wonderful to see Castle View homeowners and Windsor Mencap members side by side, laughing, chatting, and sharing a meal together,” said Karl Hallows, CEO of LMS Retirement Living. “We’re so pleased that this event not only raised an impressive £700, but also strengthened the bonds between our two communities. Windsor Mencap provides outstanding support, and we’re proud to be able to offer them our backing.”

The evening was filled with sunshine, good food, and warm company – a reminder of what our community does best when we come together. The donation will help Windsor Mencap continue delivering the activities and support that mean so much to their members and families.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended, donated, and rolled up their sleeves to make the BBQ such a success. Your kindness has made a very real difference right here in Windsor.
