Why We’ve Changed ‘Assisted Living for Rent’ to ‘Independent Living PLUS for Rent’
If you’ve ever named a pet, a boat, or even a favourite houseplant, you’ll know how much meaning a few words can hold. So when we decided to rename our ‘Assisted Living for Rent’ offering at Castle View Windsor, it wasn’t just about shaking things up for the sake of it—it was about finding the right words for what we truly do here.
Listening to Our Homeowners: Independence First
Over various cups of tea—or maybe something a little stronger—we kept hearing the same message from our homeowners: “I want to stay independent, but it’s nice to know help is there if I really need it.” That’s always been our philosophy, but we realised the term ‘assisted living’ didn’t quite capture it.
Honestly, ‘assisted living’ can sound a bit stifling. It’s as if help comes at the expense of freedom. In reality, our homeowners are out and about, hosting family, gardening, joining fitness classes, and running their own show. The support we offer is just that—support, when you want it, not when someone else decides you need it.
So, What’s Changing?
Not much, apart from the name! The care, community, and flexibility? All still here. The only real change is that our second rental option will now be called ‘Independent Living PLUS for Rent’.
Why ‘PLUS’? Because it’s your life—with extras. You still get all the independence you want, plus a few thoughtful touches that make daily life that bit easier. It’s a better reflection of what Castle View is about—living your way, but with a safety net.
