The Merry Ukes of Windsor
Thursday 30th April | 15:30 Start
Our third event in the Spring Music Sessions series features The Merry Ukes of Windsor, a joyful ukulele band guaranteed to get toes tapping and voices joining in. The group began in 2018 as part of Windsor U3A, when a small number of members discovered that just three chords were enough to play a surprising number of well-loved songs. They kept their community spirit alive throughout the pandemic by meeting on Zoom, and have since grown in size, experience and repertoire – though the emphasis firmly remains on fun and friendship.
The Merry Ukes have played in a wide variety of local settings, from community groups and clubs to care homes, retirement living communities and day centres, always encouraging audiences to sing along. At Castle View they’ll perform a selection of familiar, feel-good songs designed for maximum enjoyment and audience participation.
