Castle Retirement Living, developer of the Castle View Windsor retirement village in Windsor, has celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday with a competition run with Clewer Green CE First School. Pupils from all years created a piece of art to commemorate the Queen’s Birthday. Finalists from each age group were selected and the prizes of Daniel Gift Vouchers were presented by Mrs Daniel at the school last week.
Robin Hughes, Chief Executive of Castle Retirement Living, commented: “We were delighted that so many children participated in the competition, and there were many great entries. Daniel’s toy department is to Windsor like Hamleys is to Regent Street, so we were very pleased that Mrs Daniel was able to judge the art and present the gift voucher prizes to the 20 finalists. The hoardings will be erected on the remainder of the Castle View Windsor site shortly, and the children’s artwork will be displayed on them for everyone to see.”
Closure of the squash club on 30th June, and subsequent demolition, will allow commencement of the development in Helston Lane, Windsor during the autumn, with the construction expected to take 2 years. The scheme, which comprises a 72 bed care home and 58 retirement apartments, is one of the largest urban care village projects in the UK.
