Events & Entertainment in our Retirement Village

A note from our Sales Manager – Ruth Wilson

Two things potential residents are always keen to ask me, what are the ages of the other residents and what is life really like at Castle View?

Let me dispel a few myths, we are not an old peoples home. We are private retirement apartments which just happen to have tremendous communal facilities.

Popular events include fish and chip Fridays, afternoon tea on Tuesdays, weekend happy hours and cocktail nights – with other events running periodically to help keep everyone entertained

Our residents are smart, intelligent, independent and social when they want to be. Want to see their ages ? Check out our photographs, they are all ‘real people’ we don’t use models because we are proud to show Castle View off as it really is and they are proud to be associated with it. You only have to read a few of their testimonials to feel that.

The community at Castle View is growing and we listen to all requests for activities as well as suggesting some of our own!

Regular clubs - include Craft and Crochet , Chair Yoga , Gentle Yoga , Rummikub/Bridge.

Special Events:

Some examples of special events we organise are:

Castle View Gin Club - periodically a presentation of a new selection of gins and mixing ideas as well as interesting information on the distilling and the history of gin.

Themed Dinner Nights - we have hosted several very successful themed dinner nights, Italian, Spanish, Irish etc we have the whole world to explore!

Castle View Parties - approx once a quarter the Castle View management fund a party for all residents and their friends and families. These have included Christmas, Summer and Spring parties all in the Sky Lounge, complete with complimentary food, wine and live entertainment!

Other special events have included a Literary Festival, a masterclass in flower arranging, Wine tasting evening and regular birthday celebrations.

Although I’ve downsized I actually have more living space. All my furniture fits in so beautifully it’s as if this apartment was just made for me. I really enjoy being in central Windsor so easily accessible for all my friends and family. I love inviting them to Castle View for a meal as the food is delicious and I looking forward to never using my nice new shiny oven!
